The Melbourne Gospel Choir is Australia’s most sought after Gospel vocal group for TV appearances and backing vocals for international artists. They have regularly appeared on many TV shows such as the Vision Australia’s Carols By Candlelight, The AFL Grand Final, The Melbourne Cup, The Australian Open, Dancing With the Stars, The Logies, The Good Friday Appeal, and previously on Hey Hey It’s Saturday, It Takes Two, Starstruck, and In Melbourne Tonight.
Over the years The Melbourne Gospel Choir has backed such artists as Delta Goodrem, Westlife, Guy Sebastian, UK stars James Morrison and James Blunt, Marina Prior, Marcia Hines, Natalie Basingthwaite, Reba McIntyre, Nana Mouskouri, Jon Stevens, Dame Edna, Vanessa Amorosi, Silvie Paladino, David Campbell, Anthony Callea, Dami Im, Keala Settle, Conrad Sewell, Florence and the Machine, Callum Scott and many others.
The Melbourne Gospel Choir comprises 20 very talented members in their own right, including TV performers, theatre stars, and well known professional singers from around Melbourne, who are all worshippers and worship leaders in their home churches on Sundays. They combine to make up a fantastic gospel vocal group.
The choir has performed with many different stars over the last 20 years on Channel Nine’s national TV event, Carols by Candlelight, and have often performed as a feature act. However their stunning performance in 2017 of This is Me with Keala Settle now has the most Youtube views of any Carols by Candlelight performance ever, with over 6.5 million views and counting. Their performance of this song at the Australian Open Women’s Tennis Final is an Australian classic.
